apparently, this guy is not really concerned with neither morality nor copyright, but there are number of ways to cope with it - just like with spammers first of all, people here are on different (music related) mailing lists, and we might use those lists for more 'massive' action :-) then, I guess contacting his Internet provider might be useful, as I doubt his ISP would like to take part in robbery (as there are regulations for all sorts of companies prohibiting them from dealing with stolen property) then, I'm really happy with this mail bomb idea IDM itself has lots of members, and even though we had occasional arguments on intellectual property, (c) etc., in this case a huge majority supports Gonzi. and we may use other lists we belong to. so I suggest that Gonzi should write some short letter (actually its text wouldn't be that important), and post it to the list. and then everyone supporting the idea would just use junglizt's favourite technique - cut'n'paste - and send Gonzi's text to junglizt@islandia.is and would continue this daily until the guy changes his mind (actually we may do it later on a weekly basis, so the guy will be reminded constantly that stealing is no fun.. :-) one mail a day to send is nothing, but this pimp's mailbox would be more than full. maybe we attach a picture, changed daily? ;-) (say, Squarepusher, Spymania et al. cover art?) but sure, we should do something about it. come on, after all, we're talking about Gonzi's site! mk np. heh not if we do it the way we're doing it.. This jerk can e-mail our providers if he wants.. All we have to say is "Huh?? A mail bomb?? but I just sent one mail to him." if it even gets that far.. usually an ISP can tell if one of its users has been mailbombing or not. btw: another idea for the mailbomb.. include the FLASH codes in the subject of the msg (these are the esc codes used by flash, mflash, etc.) that way if he's on a UNIX machine, each time he reads one of his mails his screens will become superfucked up and he'll have to reset his terminal each time. and it's a lot easier than sending 500k of junk :) he'll be bumbling around in Pine trying to delete messages when he can't see a damn thing and each time he resets the terminal, when he sees the subject lines he'll be bombarded with screen fuckups :D

yes, I don't agree we all should mailbomb him.. I only mailbomb if someone really REALLY pisses me off.. How handy that this mailing list isn't stored anywhere so that he can't quote you on this when he complains to your ISP. If you're lucky, he's technically incompetent and doesn't have the resources to cause you any harm. If I were the victim of some stunt like this, it would be trivial for me to get (I'm guesstimating) half of youse guys bumped within a couple of days. Many ISP's are quite skittish these days.
