gonzi sez
this whole concept makes no sense to me. what are the consequences from
selling cds or records that are export banned? jail time? steep fines?
the whole thing seem ridiculous - are you gonna throw people in the
clink for wanting to listen to a mikey p cd. funk that. please explain -
why would anyone go along with this stupidity?
well gonzi, my distributors can gert sued big time. no one would really
bother me, but the big distributors get hassled. if for example if
virgin/astralweks says dont bring it in and you do, they can make sure
you never see another copy of an import virgin release again. not to
mention hefty fine. i think it sucks too, but its all about cash on the
major labels end. the artists go along with this when they sign to these
big labels. they know all kinds of things can happen that can keep their
music out of the hands of people that really want it.
if someone brings it in and risks the fines, no way will i turn it down
though
