Hi again IDM! Are ya still out there?
I picked up new eps from Mouse on Mars and Cylob last week. The
verdict: MoM by a healthy margin. The Cylob disc ["Latest Effort"] is
actually pretty disappointing, only trax 2 and 4 really got my
interest -- "Smack 'em up" is too noisy and "cum to me" is a little
too cheesy. I'm looking forward to "Diof 97" to renew my faith in Mr.
Cylob. I really loved "Cylobian Sunset" and this ep doesn't bear much
resemblance.... On the other hand, the new MoM ["Cache Coeur Naif"]
is nearly perfect. Laetitia from Stereolab sings on three tracks.
Its quite a different sound from their full-lengths, more
song-oriented. I think it sounds pretty cool, but then again I'm an
indierock poseur, so what do I know....
So what's everyone else listening to?
