Apologies for continuing this off topic thread but I've just returned from a weekend off-line (well mostly):

I own and have read *every* book Ballard has ever published. Crash is my favourite book of all time. I have read it 4 or 5 times and the number of people I've leant it to must be well into double figures. I think the film is an exceptional work of art in its own right, and pretty much agree with Gonzi's appreciation. Its worth noting that Ballard himself was overjoyed with how the film turned out and in a letter to Cronenburg said that 'the film continued where the book left off'. GRob Now playing: Howard Shore/Ornette Coleman - The Naked Lunch OST

I disagree, though the soundtrack was trite shite and distinctly non-IDM.

I prefer The Atrocity Exhibition, the literary equivalent of a music video.

You'll be happy to know there's a JG Ballard maillist. A buddy who is on it says it's at : jgballard@simons-rock.edu, and it's majordomo, so send a SUBSCRIBE message to jgballard-request@simons-rock.edu to join. Che
