Hi there, I found this filed under the Aphex Twin section of a local music store today and bought it. I haven't heard any discussion about it, but it is a four track ep from Warp. The first track is my favorite. If you thought the snares? were fast on S-pusher's port rhombus, get a load of this. --Bill http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/murmur/

Right. It's not AFX, I dunno actually who it is, haven't found out yet either :P but I'm sure someone here can tell you who it is. I wasn't all that impressed by this ep. It's not bad, it's qutie good, but the thing that made me grab it up was track 3. That owl-like sound is really wicked. -- __ __\ \ Aurafix aka Hillie / PHD ^ DAMONES (aka Rare Guy) / /_\ \ http://www.clark.net/pub/buh/index.html \_____/ >> buh@clark.net >> < > .. >> .<>> >> > , m7= inducing mindwaves.. electronic techno muuusik controlled manually by a p h e x t wi n .. .. . . .

Very interesting. I made a query on IDM last week about the origins of this EP and promptly received email from a certain record store saying:

what ever in the fuck that means... Upon telling a friend (who I order 75% of my vinyl from) about this reply, he told me that one of his distributors (who I won't name either) told him that it WAS in fact RDJ. I really don't care either way, just presenting you all with some silly shit to ponder. may your weekend be fun filled, brock ps: and yes, I remember woodenspoon. np: Spymania Allstars - 'AVIT' ;-)

Yeah, on the first track the snares do become a bit of a blur. I dunno, this release is fairly engaging, but seems 'conservative' in its proto-jungle stylings. Maybe the title led me to believe that it would be a bit more of a surprise... Catch of the week: K7 "One Six Four One Seven". This release is worth the admission price for the Autechre mix alone. That auto-wah vocoder shit is the dopest thing I've ever heard. When I first heard this track on the Real Audio broadcast I went apeshit over it and now it's nice to have it on vinyl. Drum programming is key too - triplet 8ths throw me into a frenzy! GD
