Recently my Mum asked me what was my favourite kind of music. I replied IDM or drum 'n' bass. She said "What's IDM ?". I said it stands for Intelligent Dance Music and it's music purely for listening and not to dance to (alright, I could have given a better explanation...) . A few days later she came to get my sister and me (to go to a 70s-90s (CRAP !) disco btw) and she started to make (somewhat funny) remarks : "If you went to an 'Oldies but Goodies' shop in Prague (they sell all kinds of awful and popular music) they would say "Music" (pointing to the whole shop) and "Dance" (pointing to a table) .""Yes, but INTELLIGENT dance music !?" she then said. "In the Virgin megastore in Paris they would say "Mais qu'est ce-que c'est ça ?" (But what is that in French) and in the one in Glasgow (Scotland) they would say (broad Scots accent) 'Look, we've got plenty a dance music, but I don't know what IDM is !'".
P.S. : What's the meaning of np ?
