Mira Calix - LLanga 10"(Warp) 2 tracks from mysterious artist , who dunnit? , well, credits read "assisted by Gescom" , so is it an entirely new artist or as had been bandied about here - Mark Bell from LFO? , "Humba" uses what sounds like the "Tied Up" break from 'Advance' slowed down and pushed to the limits , a female voice whispers a phrase throughout the duration of the track (this subliminal technique is repeated on flip) ,and is almost as if the structure has been pulled inside out, with beats to the fore and a melodic phrase faintly audiable under the hiss and distortion , "Khala" is the sound of the city grinding to a halt , industrial slo-mo beats , ominious tones and that whispering voice from the shadows..... Think one of these tracks appeared on the 'EuroWarp' tape, if I can remember rightly....... sm @ 4th world *cutting edgemailorder* http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/4thworld on now - web - eva (fat cat)

I'm a little miffed about this one! I begged, pleaded, bribed and even made a few idle threats to a couple of buyers at my fav. stores to order and stash a copy of this 10". No one came thru! Now I guess I'm going to have to try to find a copy mail order... dejectedly yours, brock np: not Mira Calix! ps: I know who 'she' is and I'm not telling until I get a copy of me own!
