Yeesh! I think it was pretty cheesy to diss Tamara the way the one poster did, but remember, it's not as if the whole list is ganging up on her - the attack on URB came from one person in particular. Your snide remarks about the list don't really help your cause... Anyway, on to a more relevant topic: several people have used the phrase "sparse" to describe the Rupert Parkes/Photek sound. Judging from T.Raenon and Hidden Camera, I'd say that the overall feel of his breaks in part results from the use of very short delays and minimal layering of beats. It's as if he uses the delays in place of actual drum hits, and since the sound level of the hits die off with each subsequent echo, the grooves sound a bit less filled out. Or maybe it has something to do with his EQ settings as well... GD On Now: "The Sound of Beady Eyes" - sounds a bit like Stevie Wonder!
