Both KLF and IDM lists might be interested in this little observation. On the new Wafta EP on Spymania, one track is titled "Wichita Lineman". One segment of the KLF's "Chill Out" is called "Witchita (sic) Lineman is a song I once knew". Now what I don't know is whether there was ever such a song before, or if KLF just made this up, and Wafta heve decided to join the dots, as it were. there was a wonderful song by glenn campbell (from the early 70s i think, maybe earlier) called wichita county lineman. ambient country, if you will (lush, lost, vague, and wistful strings).
