Not sure if this is old. From Japanese record release schedules, I spotted this: Derrick May: Innovator (SRCS-7980, 3500 yen, 96.4.21) It's a 2CD set with 21 tracks. the cd indeed is called 'innovator', which is a compilation of his early material, including several unreleased tracks, along with remixes done by juan atkins and ken ishii... the songs are: cd1 1&2 "rest" 3 strings of the strings of life 4 another kaos -beyond kaos 5 free style 6 "a rest" beyond kaos 7 the dance 8 spaced out -love hate mix 9 it is what it is 10 some more spaced out 11 beyond the dance-cult mix 12 feel surreal ends - the feel of surreal! 13 "to rest" 14 r-theme cd2 1 the beginning of the end - of the end of the beginning-montage sensitive mix 2&3 phantom-a relic mix 4 kaotic harmony - a one time live recording in detroit 5 more phantom 6 salsa life 7 nude photo/the biginning 8 another relic - from the relics 9 drama 10 string of life ms-4 version 11 the beginning - ken ishii remix 12 wiggin-juan atkins remix since he stopped making music and it's been a while, this cd can be said as a dictionay of detroit techno music. the songs are excellent, but there are no new recordings, just from the past...this compilation is just for japanese market, and don't know if it is scheduled to be released internationally... ...remixes are very good though.. anyone know about when his next recording be? i have heard that he has signed with R&S... hirobumb@grape.ifnet.or.jp
