I bought this at A-Musik when I was in Koln visiting a friend. Ok, I guess this post will stray from the original intention but this is really upsetting me. I had this record and Prickly Dred Rhizzomes as a carry-on on all my flights back to the States. I held onto it obsessively so as to prevent any warpage or fractures. When I put "Instrumentals" down for a listen, it skips every 10 or 15 seconds until it reaches the middle of the record; at that point, the arm slides all the way to the center of the album. I've turned the anti-skate all the way up to four and even put a quarter on the stylus. That just ended up grinding the vinyl and probably fucking it up in general. The plate is pristine and completely flat- no warping, scratches, or even lint. Did I get a bad pressing or is my player bad? The turntable at A-Musik seemed to handle it fine but I only skimmed through the record (I knew I was gonna get it anyway). Any technicians out there? Thanks for the help, John P.S. I know very little German. My friends taught me a lot and the coolest thing I learned was that the German word for records is "Schallplatten" (sp?) which they told me that it translates to "noise plate." I figured IDMers would be in a special position to appreciate that translation :) __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Talk to your friends online with Yahoo!
