So, is the U.S. version of the Funky Porcini lp (the one with the bonus disc) actually out yet? I've tried to special order it several times with no luck and neither cdworld nor cdnow list it. Alex at Mod Lang assures me there isn't such a thing, but I got the impression that a few people on IDM already had a copy.

Yes, I got it about two weeks ago. It's on Shadow Records (SDW006-2). I liked it, some pretty neat (different) stuff to listen too. I've seen quite the handful o' copies at my local Tower (complete with bonus CD), so it's most definitely out... - Matthew

Yes, it is available. I got it from Bent Crayon (bcrayon@en.com) about a month ago. John, the owner, got it from Instinct. The 2xCD has been released on Instinct's trip hop sublabel Shadow Records for a domestic price. If you e-mail John at Bent Crayon he may still have a copy. I don't know if anyone has talked about the new one from FP, but it is very good. Drum'n'bass techniques applied to nice lazzy sounds and break beats. A large difference to last year's album, this one is much more thought out and absorbing. Mohsen

Nice one Mohsen! Add to that for those in the US, the 4track 12" (from an album?) is on Shadow Records/Instinct and is priced accordingly. Super jazz samples with the most convoluted programming I've heard this side of Wafta, this one even gets extra silly points along the lines of the Plug rmx on the Jammin Unit/Chemical Durb 12". eric
