Well further to the debate of what is/is not IDM, I want to
throw this spanner in the works and risk enormous flaming
and credibility loss by listing some of those tracks that for
some reason or other I like, but most of us would be too
embarassed to admit.
Most of the tracks below possess one or more of the following
characteristics.
some characteristics of "closet IDM"
"negative"
1. was far too popular or over-rated
2. was not popular but by a very popular/commercial artist
3. is too cheesy/gimmicky or has lyrics
4. your parents like it
6. you liked it when you were young
"positive"
7. has excellent production
8. well written/good song structure
9. remixed, engineered or produced by someone with credibility
10. has its heart in the right place
11. you can relate to your non-idm fanatic friends through it
because they like it too (crowd pleaser)
