Redone: Picked it up on Saturday, nice fast remixes of Throbbing Pouch Material. That Aphex thang is well weird. Take jungle rhythms, disassemble them and rebuild out of Aphex noises. But the result sounds a little incoherent at times I'm afraid. The mix of Reedin (Reedin = Redone", geddit?) sounds in places like its just the original being played at 45, but when the samples come in you know its not, and then the tempo drops to half speed and you could never listen to it at 33 At Atmos: I thought this was long-deleted, so the lush translucent red-vinyl-in-a-clear-sleeve that appeared on a local shelf was a bit of a surprise. Slightly more technoey, less jazzy instrumentation than his more recent work, a bit loopy in places, and frankly excellent. A good 40+ minutes worth of excellent mellow grooves. Plug 2: Sold Out Everywhere. Damn! This pisses me off more than anything. After hearing his remix of 2 player's extreme possibilities I am wetting myself to hear more of his drum and bass stuff.
