I would like to clear the air regarding the sold out nature of the ltd.
edition ISDN.
In the U.K., Virgin made the release available to British retail for 1 day.
They sold all 10,000 copies to retailers on that day.
In the U.S., Caroline Distribution, which sells Astralwerks releases to
retail stores, put the release sale and three days later sold all 10,000
copies to retailers and One-Stops -- effectively emptying OUR warehouse of
ANY copies of the ltd. edition ISDN. One of those "retailers" was CD-One
Stop; they sell to thousands of stores themselves as a quick, inclusive
wholesaler to record retailers. I don't know the exact # of copies they
bought, but I am aware that it took them a couple of months to unload all the
copies they took in.
I hope this explains why it is STILL possible to see ltd. ISDN copies in
stores and why some stores were able to continue to buy the piece over a
period of time.
Brian
P.S. look for more "sold out" semantics when we release ltd. edition version
of the next Excursions In Ambience.
