All this WARP nostalgia reminds me of the group that originally introduced me to this label: LFO. I was listening to the "What is House" EP last night (now four years old) and except for the Moby remix, nothing much sounds dated. What have they released since then and are they planning a new album? "Frequencies" was _very_ influential on my listening habits back in '92. ------------------------------------------------|---------------------------- "Categories strain, crack and break... | Harvey Thornburg Step out of the space provided." | hthornbu@osiris.ac.hmc.edu -Steven Stapleton (1979) | dada_x@venom.st.hmc.edu ------------------------------------------------|----------------------------

LFO has joined a monastery in the southern Andean mountains. This of course was much to their label's dismay, since their biggest cash cow had just run off to chant in isolation (unplugged). Living in denial, Warp continues to issue press releases that the new LFO album is just around the corner. When confronted with past-due dates, Warp promoter Jiggles McSpit stated, "Ummm, jolly good, do ye have the time mate?", then dove into a waiting rikshaw. Before diving into isolation, LFO performed one last time in Suurgaardnigdaz, Sweden. Unfortunately, pathological liars Vidar Hansen and Christian Bartholdsen were the only people in attendance, so even this fact has been disputed.

LFO remixed a Radiohead track recently and also The Sabres Of Paradise _Duke of Earlsfield_ (Limited 2000 10"s or a full release CD with all the Sabres remixes, top sub-bassy tune btw!). The last time a spoke to WARP about LFO (a few weeks ago I wuz told that they were... "choosing from hundreds of tracks, narrowing them down for the album [titled _Advance_ btw, the coolest named bit of vapour vinyl ever to exist], which might appear in July" Yeah, sure! It's on the latest release schedule as 'still to come in 1995'. No date. greg The Official WARP Web Site 3 0 3 http://www.ncl.ac.uk/~n264671/wap-indx.html
