Insomniak. I cant sleep. Why not kill the time with some reviews of some new shit I have got. And I wil take time to review some stuff on labels I don't see mentioned on this list, I appreciate the reviews that people due, but how about some more variety? Maybe something more than just the Warp and Clear overload. Underground Science-Electric Zoup- Lo Voltage Records A division of Plink Plonk that puts out Detroit and minimalist style techno.. I like the ones I have on this label so why not get some more? I did I. The new one is called Underground Science and it is pretty fucking underground. The main mix of Electric Zoup is a fast freak cut, with some good animal sounding keyboards... In this bowl of Zoup I hear some frogs and mosquitos, sounds pretty cool....the b side has a two different dub mixes which sound like ambient head space music for coctail lounges for the year 2027....similar to stuff I have heard on Reflective records....top shit, one for the trippers and electronic druggies. One for the electro beat freaks....(myself included) Pollution Vol One-To Help You to Breath More Easily-Eidechse Records Opens with a big swirling keyboard sound into a basic electro beat complete with the ah ah (Egyptian Lover breathing type thing) than into a 303 piece with some nice electronic overlays...then breaks into a deep choir voice type thing....this gets mixed around quite a bit in the track....pretty nice cut, but this aint the raddest thing to land on our planet, but a good one for those electro beat freeks... U.S. Domestics Nigel Richards-Funky Shit-611 records one side has a familiar old funk riff that Meat Beat Manifesto samples on their song Cutman off of Armed Audio Warfare, anyway this riff gets played around with then joined by a 303, and some scratching and buzz sounds with some drum rolls, and various goodies. Other side has two more good cuts, the last cut on the 2 track side, having a nice keyboard riff (sounds sorta like Tubular Bells by Mike Oldfield) joined by some hip hop beats at a 120ish tempo with some psuedo-jungle breakdowns...Nice, you can call this funky techno or trip hop or techno hop or you can call it music, i call it pretty nice shit and a nice domestic price Wicked Vibes-Commander Mindfucks Lysergic Testostorine Mix Rampant Records 006 This one got my dollars due to the Mike Kandell remix. This dude is on a mission of late, I have digged on all his shit since he adopted the Commander Mindfuck handle. Anyway this is pretty fucked up shit, some seriously fucked up samples and hyper distorto beats.. "Drugs or God whats the difference, some kids escape with drugs," says the fucked up voice.....Play this to a crowd of drugged up kiddies and keep a couple dozen straight Jackets handy.
