i believe everyone into techno has some record with walker... last summer
he stated he's on about 230 records. i'm not sure whether i should believe
this, but i'd accept say eighty (maybe he includes compilations). it should
be possible to get some of the vinyl! :-)
g.e.n. is short for global electronic network and consists of kenneth
haggarty = khan = gizz tv and ingmar koch = walker. the label mille
plateaux is a collaboration of the ambient label blue (the label that
released air liquide's nephology) and the techno label force inc. release
#6 is a 50-minutes long 3-tracker, weltron/rolleiflex is #10, a
picture-disc plus maxi with several confusingly labeled tracks. excerpts
from #6 and #10 have been released on cd (time square/rolleiflex/weltron),
mp cd10. it *should* be possible to order some of this where you got air
liquide.
i think #6 is a bit boring or aimless, but i like #10 more than any other
of walker's more sedate efforts, nephology included. calm, sober, slightly
acidic ambience. well it *sounds* sober :-)
as for other walker stuff: quick plug... there's a brand new version of my
force inc. discog (mille plateaux included) plus assorted others (biochip
discog next week) at
http://cleopatra.ivw.uni-kl.de:8001/~riege/techno/techno.info
in two or three weeks time, we'll also put a dj'ungle fever and mono tone
discog up there. these are two of walker's labels. mind you, the stuff on
those labels is harder than the ambient trance stuff of air liquide.
hope this helps!
