Cancel my vote!
I voted for 7th Plain's _Four_Cornered_Room_ for one of the IDM best OTY,
but I just picked up _My_Yellow_Wise_Rug_ and...wow, I really really like
it.
Same great jazzy tonalities, but definitely less of an (Artificial
Intelligence) feel than _Four_Cornered_, and much more lush, to almost a
Global Communication-style majesty in parts. Good beats, good abstract
melodies, and good ambience...at the same time!
I highly recommend this album (especially if you liked his track on TEX3).
Also picked up Skylab's full-length. I think I just missed the discussion
on them, but man this is some crazy cool experimental ambient dub with
guitars! Does anyone have any more info, or should I just check the
archives?
Also heard Vapourspace's remix of Pressure of Speech's "Elone". Wicked!
Anyone know of other stuff that sounds like this?
And once again, we should get some tape trades going. This stuff is
expensive enough as it is, without taking gambles. =)
