a friend asked to borrow an Orbital album because he had never heard their sound, in the process he layed a Bjork album on me. I remembered her from the Sugarcubes and was thinking rock band, but guess what? She sings over electronic dance music - and it don't sound like no stinking disco diva either. Pretty good I say. My friend's take on Orbital - "sounds like disco". My wife says the same about all the electronic music I listen to. "It sounds like disco. Its boring." It just occurred to me, "idm" could also stand for "Idiot Dance Music", it just depends on what side of the fence you're standing. fuzzy

If you look at the names, you'll see that N'dea Davenport of Brand New Heavies collaborated on this album. In any case, it is far from the first time Bjork has done dance music. On Ex:el, she sings on oops and on another track.. hmmm oh ya, qmart. She also did something with New Order (funny, Bernard Sumner is also on an 808 State track on this same album). BTW, is this the best ever imitation of Bjork or does she sings on the Mars bar tv pub with the mountain bikes?

If only disco had used cool electronic sounds. But then again, good thing they didn' t as we'd be hearing cheesy presets now instead of the other way around...
