Anyone >who'd write for "Details" is a prat to being with, and if they are babbling >about "death of the L.A. rave scene", they're idiots. I've got 8 flyers >sitting here next to me that belie that notion ... plus, who'd they think >showed up at Millennium, 14,000 movie industry extras?!?
Ahh, but Greg, how many are you attending? We have a rave nearly every weekend here now, but I never bother to go. I think the gist of the "death" idea is that they're not new nor exciting anymore. It doesn't matter how many of them are being advertised, it matters how many of them are quality events that are unique to the rest. Doc Martin is touring with Dee Lite for hell's sake. How underground is that? The whole idea of the rave was the fact that they were illicit, underground, and fantabulously fun. I never see that anymore. In short, the idea is dead. Mixmaster Morris/Pete Namlook in SF was the last time I enjoyed a new idea.
