It doesn't make me like an album any less even if it uses (or should I say overuses) presets. But I kinda think that since the sounds are a crucial part of electronic music one should at least give some credit to the preset programmers if one mostly uses them. Still, it is hard to draw a fine line what is a preset nowadays. I often take a 808 sample or such and build a sound based on that with my K2k. Perhaps I mean a preset as we have discussed here - such a preset that anybody with a hands on experience with a synth can recognice. 303 and such are in a bit different category since they don't really even have a single preset. I guess it is the same for me than for Morgan - it's a psychological thing. Jouni.
