Perhaps you should try *mixing* with them ;-)
I'll agree that spastic can be a bit hard to appreciate at times--I always
want a third deck for that song, but krakpot is an absolute minimalist
masterpeice; I've seen it just *explode* dancefloors. Ditto Electrostatic
and Helicopter. These three songs can be put on top of almost anything
tweeky with excellent results in addition to being great transitional
tunes. And of course lets not forget about Plasticine and Plasticity both
of which reside *properly* on the recent idm top 25.
Also there's a whole range of what I call fairly deep trance that achieve's
its effect not so much with layered synths etc. but via long and constant
repetition; much of the basic channel material, especially 4 & 5, work this
way. It's hard to appreciate when you're shopping disks quickly with
headphones but smoke a j and let these tracks breathe and you'll go deep
pretty reliably.
