I chanced upon vinyl copies "Strictly Limited 1000 DJ edition" of
Trancemaster 4 and 5 while I was in England. I normally despise most
compilations but there were some really hard to find & old tracks on there.
Quazar's Break Away, Illuminatus' Hope, 4Voice's Eternal Spirit, Choice's
Acid Eiffel, Astrospider's Ritmista... This one is called Tribal Chill Out
and while this comp is rather good I thought, it's not exactly 'tribal chill'.
Maybe Visions of Shiva & the Psychick Warriors Ov Gaia's tracks.
Then I came across number five: The Hardtrance Experience and thought the
name was a bit more on target. I mostly bought it so I could spin Capricorn's
20hz. It also has Datura's Yerba Del Diablo, Speedy J, and Cyberia's
Doors (this is on Industrial Strength's trance sublabel, IST which samples
"the moons of saturn") but I wasn't so crazy about this one.
I never see any of them and think most of them are quite good. I've seen
ads for them in the Face or was it i-D? Unfortunately the vinyl isn't so
DJ friendly as the vinyl is thin, low quality & the sound levels are really
low like you find on most albums. The CDs should be much better quality.
I did get to see a copy of number six, Aural Brain Food and thought it
looked great.... because I have most of the records on there. Especially
the ones on the FNAC label so I passed on this one. Hope this helped.
