Check out this historical event on Canadian soil ? we?re free but we?re not cheap!!! The Hip Hop Peace and Unity Fest is the only festival of its kind that offers free admission, scheduled to showcase Canadian talent alongside American talent to represent the edutainment aspect of hip hop culture. Much more than a concert production, the Peace and Unity Fest is a social and cultural happening? specifically aimed towards reaching a multigenerational and multicultural audience, presenting the positive aspects of hip hop culture as an educational and political medium to build bridges to promote peace, creativity and a unified community. King and John Street) A roundtable that will gather the hip hop artists and community, politicians, youth representatives, non-profit community representatives, multicultural and regionally-based speakers to discuss specific issues of importance to Social Responsibility in our community. Evening: Opening multimedia event with K-OS at Ice Lounge (222 Richmond Street West) showcasing videos featuring Canadian hip hop artists. Saturday, August 14: 10:30 ?12:30 p.m. Artist Development Forum (Metro Hall) There are a great many aspects to building a game-plan to move from the streets to the stereo. Leading pros in A&R, marketing, management and Indie existence will speak to effective strategies in each area to streamline the evolution of each artist. 1 ? 8 p.m. A free concert that will promote Canadian and American artists and crews to promote Peace and Unity Afterparty: Sound Emporium (360 Adelaide St. W.), hosting the illest djs in the city and hosting our American artist guests! Sunday, August 15: 1 ? 8 p.m. Day II of the Outdoor Concert event, again @ Metro Hall Square Evening: Sound Emporium wrap up party with special guests... Toronto welcomes the Hip Hop Peace and Unity Festival and promises to provide a venue where Canadian and American Hip Hop will converge. With it comes the opportunity to showcase Canadian Hip Hop while also raising youth awareness and supporting community outreach efforts. This summer, local, national and American Djs, Mcs, Graf artists, B-Boys and B-Girls alike will come together to Bring that Beat Back.
