The rephlex recording artist Mike Dred has recorded a number of releases
under the name "Chimera" in the early '90's. Based on the description you
are giving, I am almost positive that this is who/what you are referring to,
despite the slight difference in spelling of the name. I'm not sure if Mr.
Dred is a participant in the IDM list...
