Back in 2000, when turntablists were getting wicky-wacky in
every basement in town, Kid Koala's debut album Carpal
Tunnel Syndrome was still the nuttiest thing you'd ever
heard. ("Drunk Trumpet" still sounds cool to this day.)
Since then, the Montreal DJ has spent three years honing his
chops and playing in supergroups like Handsome Boy Modeling
School and Deltron 3030 -- not to mention writing a novel.
Tonight he makes music, reads from his book (reportedly a
lusty romance!), and generally entertains folks at swanky
chef-owned restaurant Butterfly. (IB)
