True but in light of Sigur Ros and Mum, there's a vibrant music scene that's been springing up there for the last few years. Not that they're a good barometer of hip, but the New York Times were sending correspondents there every few weeks early this year just to get a bead on the scene there. > it's beautiful there... when i sense the next world > war coming i'll do my best to immigrate there, but > if i were just starting out as an electronic musician > (and, hey! i am!) i'd head to the mainland... i'm > moving to LA in the next week or two for this purpose. > my girlfriend and i are going to give it a go at a > year there and see what kind of dent we can make, and > if it doesn't work out, we'll go somewhere else... > that's the plan anyway. god knows i'd rather not > be in LA for any longer than i have to be. It is indeed a beautiful place and I definitely recommend going there. The first thing to get over is that the name of the country is a total misnomer. Most of the ice in Iceland is found on mountain tops and the peoples' freezer in their refrigerator. Greenland is actually almost all ice itself. Iceland has beautiful mountains, thermal springs, gorgeous coastlines, fishing villages and midnight sun.
