Remember the story about the Pole impersonator? In 1999, someone pretending to be Pole sent a DAT to Fatcat, and Fatcat actually pressed a batch of records before they realized the tracks were fake. (Fatcat honcho Dave Howell talks a bit about it at the end of this interview: http://noiseweb.com/angbase/issue5/fatcat1.html ) Well, one of the fake tracks was played on Brave New Waves last night. Apparently V/VM was responsible for the prank. Has anyone else heard about V/VM's involvement in this? The track played was called something like "bestdehijack". It just sounded like a cover (or an n-th generation recording) of "Huckepack" from Pole's second record, with some extra noises over the top... __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
