How was the album? The impression that I got from their live show was of
reheated French cabaret music (ou est-il, Jacques Brel?) in a vaguely
Portishead style. The Francophile influence seems to be so pervasive as to
manifest itself in Ms. Goldfrapp's wardrobe (I mean, what's more French
than wearing military gear with no obvious intention of ever using it in a
combat situation?). On the other hand, reviews of the album seem
consistently positive, so you never know.
