Dan Menche told me that he was going to be opening for Autechre at the Portland show on the 17t, as they'd requested him after playing with him in a festival in Spain. That is good news. I was dreading that the Portland-area promoters would resort to a post-rock band or something. You can hear Dan's music on a bunch of cds on Solielmoon, Table of the Elements. BTW, Tim Stollenwerk, who helps engineer/master the more recent albums, is doing a double-cd on my recently-resusitated label Pharmacy Recordings. It will feature one disc of field recordings and one disc of ascetic electronic compositions. Definitely not as in-yr-face as Dan, tfs.
