A few underground semi-regular events exist. We C-FOM boys have been active of late (www.c-fom.com).. Toneburst (or whatever the moniker is now) does quite a bit. ("Dirt" @ Montsurrat last night, Cyberarts festival soon)

There have been a few weeklies throughout the years here. Mostly they crumble apart after a few months at most, because it's a lot of work or venues change their mind about what is and isn't a good idea. (read: profitable) But if you're up for it, excellent! There are definitely artists/DJs who would be interested.

Mmm.. but ninja tune != IDM? Although I have seen mouse on mars and u-ziq shows sold out (or near capacity) they're the exception, not really the rule, unfortunately. I've also seen shows in large venues with medium-sized names go basically uninhabited. If I was pressed to give a reason, I would say that a lot of college kids have the enthusiasm/time to devote to music, but without publicity it's very difficult to pull people in. Most of the percentage of folks I see at events in the Boston area are either in the indy rock or raver category. YMMV Plug #1: Listen to my radio show 4-6PM on Sundays, WZBC 90.3. Electronic music all over the place. Plug #2: C-FOM and Tokosholab's recording artists are performing this Saturday at Gallery Bershad, 99 Dover st., Davis square, 8-12PM. Antarktika, Cathode Ray Tube, Plex, and Entropy Struct. www.bershad.com Andrew -| Andrew Schrock | aschrock@cs.brandeis.edu |- --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
