was a huge fan through the whole emerson era... this is just a guess but i
feel like he was the guy who gave them a much more hard, club sound,
slicker sort of underground edge. after he left/quit/was kicked out its
like rick just went back to making the same sort of shit he did before,
musically solid, great melodies, but just without nearly the same bite that
the stuff had with darren.
