I started out smoking Lucky's and listening to Ornette Coleman, moved on to psychedelics with the minimalists, until I hit a serious patch of red wine, 20th century composers and German opera in the mid-80's. Schoenberg, Ligeti, and Sun Ra were later joined, in the early '90's by Ellington and Fletcher and Monk. Squarepusher's "Port Rhombus" landed like a well-guided missile on my listening habits and changed everything. I'm still drinking red wine, and minimalism is back in my life, this time with a kick drum. k --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
