Funny you should mention this... a good friend of mine is in a band called Si Se out of NYC. They're in the process of recording their first album for David Byrne's Luaka Bop label. Now, I haven't heard them yet (begged for tapes as I have), but I'm pretty sure they're in the dn'b w/ live instruments realm, yet they still use some electronics. DJ Carol C. adds some spanish-flavored lyrics to the mix. My friend plays viola and bass guitar, I believe... They're actually playing here in Chicago tonight, so I'll have a better description in a few hours :) I'm also attempting my first MiniDisc live recording session, so we'll see how it goes... btw, for anyone in Chicago that's interested... it's at Joe's on Weed St. 9pm sharp. -Andrew --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
