[Sorry for the jumbled multi-reply, but I lost the original messages] Treadmill? I can understand making a judgement on an artist's progression after the third album or so, but this is just Alan's second album. Granted, it has been four years since the first full-length, and maybe you've heard outtakes in the interim. Otherwise, while I'll reiterate that "Puttering" will certainly make "Bundle Of Joy" fans happy, "Bundle of Joy 2" this album is not. While not a radical departure, the new album does have differences... and I don't sense any lack of new ideas. But hey, diff'rent strokes/diff'rent folks/rule the world/yes it does And I hope I didn't accidentally tout the new Loops record as some sort of IDM Landmark. Personally, it's my favorite album of the year so far, and nothing more. I only posted it here because I knew there were fans on this list, and also some of Land Of The Loops' stuff has a few though not many qualities shared by what's get discussed here often.... If you're unequivocally against "cute", you probably won't like this record... then again, it may be so cute that even the most bad-ass Eeyore on this list couldn't resist... so I dunno. ======================================================================= Brian MacDonald <brianm@kuci.org> KUCI 88.9 fM in Irvine, CA -- Orange County ======================================================================= --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
