Here's some stuff I enjoy dancing to which has been discussed on this list
(my brilliant attempt at a purely pragmatic definition of IDM :-)
Plenty of stuff involving Patrick Pulsinger, especially the album 'Carerra'
by Sluts'n'Strings & 909s. Electro, sometimes tending towards hip-hop and
vocoders and so on, sometimes more towards grungey techno... damn cool.
The Modernist. Kinda "dinky" sounding; bright and clean sounds. Repetitive
in a way that gets a bit much for me, but great FUN.
Photek, Paradox (or Alaska :-), Klute. All drum n bass, all really good,
IMO. Paradox is the most likely to inspire phrases like "fucking bad ass",
ie his music's more rough and obviously dance floor than the others.
The label Thule. Try the comp 'Fishcake'. Techno, influenced by/derivative
of Chain Reaction stuff. It's got a bit more swing than most CR material, IMO.
Selected moments by the Black Dog and/or Plaid. They've done some great
dance tracks.
To be honest, I mostly enjoy dancing to stuff that doesn't get much/any
time on this list, eg. reggae, hip-hop, and funk.. Hopefully letting you in
on that gives you a better perspective on my tastes/recommendations.
Michael
PS. I presume the Falsch (Mego imprint) recommendation was actually someone
taking the piss. Check
