Actually, in the liner notes for the Westbam "We'll Never Stop Living This Way" singles comp that came out recently, it says almost this exact same thing about kraftwerk. And I didn't think I liked straightforward techno before I listened to this comp. This CD is undoubtedly the best thing I've heard all year. And though it is not seemingly funky at all, I can't help but want to dance on nearly every song. I'd highly recommend this, even though it may lack the I of IDM. I was a bit surprised to hear a break in one song (actually, a computer voice says BREAK! before it) that sounds like it could have been sampled off a Pole album, sped up. In fact, some of the stuff on this album (at least 3 songs) remind me of Pan Sonic, or Plastikman. Very minimal, without any extraneous synth washes, etc. Anyone else have comments on this CD?
