Cheryl Lynn. It's on her selftitled album from 1978 (on Columbia).
Incidentally, David Foster cowrote it. For those who don't know
who David Foster is, he's a Canadian guy who produced/wrote with
a lot of good funk/disco bands back in the day, but now he's
working with the likes of Celine Dion. "once more, you open
