As a former art fag - from back when we had Morrisey to show us how to suffer all the maginalizing effects of homosexuality without actually gettin' it on with anyone - I feel compelled to write. A few years back I failed to draw a line in the lexicographic sand with respect to 'gay'. Next thing I knew, it had expanded to include lesbians (thanks, Ellen.) 'Queer' - once a slur just for the homosexual male, now enpowers gender terrorists from any mammal species, and I heard some amphibians are starting to self-identify as queer, too. Here is my urgent plea to all homosexual men - if we don't preserve "fag", our last specific pejorative...our identity may eventually fade and we will become (shudder) regular guys. viva la oprecion! -- =eric=korsedal=
