Exactly the conversation I was having at a party Saturday night, with a self-appointed turntable-hanger-arounder who explained in great detail that he ONLY liked music where he "could hear every instrument" (read "real" instrument - as opposed to anything electronic / thus "artificial"). I attempted to convey that it is indeed possible to produce an _emotional aspect_ in electronic music, which he waved off as cold and machine-made, thus clinical. This is the prejudiced and intolerant view of many who have grown up regarding rock and jazz (for instance) as the only true forms of acceptable music (by extrapolation because 'real instruments' are being played in real time by real people).
