actually funk is a reference to the english word funk. stoerung means distortion (or interference, i suppose) so it's sort of funk-distortion or funky distortion. pronunciation? funk (like in english)-shtow (an american approximation, it's hard to say an umlauted letter unless you've studied the german language)-roong. sort of. np: metic "saurus" "a dream is worth a thousand pictures, the mouths of lampreys a thousand more..."
