I'd say so. Sonic Boom from Spectrum made good use of his
Theremin during a recent performance here in Tucson. Among his modular
gear, vocoder and other goodies he still managed to play it often. At one
point, his hands were occupied on a keyboard so he backed his rear end
near the antenna (there was only one for pitch) and voila!
Even Jack Dangers sported a theremin during the Meat Beat
Manifesto performance at Organic last year.
Not to mention the theremin presence in Mars Attacks! ...
