Pah. Gimme "Bytes" any time.
True greatness is measured in albums, not EPs. "Bytes" is still one
of the very, very few albums in IDM that is an *album* and not just
merely a collection of tracks. With "Bytes", all tracks have their
own identity, yet there is an overall feel that connects all tracks.
No experimenting for experiment's sake, no contests in trying to get
the weirdest noises on vinyl, but an attention to detail in every
track while maintaining an overall picture, *that* is an album! It's
so much harder to make a great album than to make a great EP.
