With all the talk about Coldcut recently, thought i'd share my excitement
from tonight....
While organizing various areas of our campus radio station I start to go
through boxes and boxes of old records. I browsed through a bunch (a good
500 methinks) of 'em ...and what do I find stashed amongst a pleothora of
bad hair metal and lame jerry-curl rap?? 3 Coldcut 12"s... y'know the
ones everyone has been asking to re-release... I found the "What's That
Noise" LP which contains the original "Beats & Pieces" (excellent stuff...
it's easy to see why sampling lawsuits could be a big issue ;) )
..and from that LP, 2 12" singles for "People Hold On" and "Stop This
Crazy Thing" ...and there are a good 2000 records to sort through still...
who knows what gems await me? ;)
