Chris Sez: I think it's because it was probably mastered *correctly*. This same phenomenon occurs when you play any of the Axiom/laswell discs. They sound quiet, unlike th usual pumpin' stuff we all like to hear. 95% of the cd's we buy, especially with pop music, have been published at incredibly high volumes to pump the shit out of your walkman. From what I understand, this damages the sound and people who give a shit about that sometimes will record at a lower level to preserve the sound. I don't know all this for sure, but I've heard rumors. -CF
