Paul,
I've had one of these world famous beauties for over 4 years now and
can honestly say it's the best value for money platter on the market at
the time and I suppose that's why the design hasn't changed since 1974
(I think). I play everything from fusion to IDM and it sounds an
absolute dream as you get to hear sounds that you never knew even
existed (a real true sound). You'll find yourself sifting through those
old records, you thought sounded OK at the time of purchase, with a new
set of ears. Of course you can spend a lot more but for that amount of
cash it's a real killer. The tone arm is also a legend in its own right
and has been stuck onto other players that cost 3 times as much as the
P2. As for the sound reproduction on IDM tracks, it kills my friend's
system that cost over 1200GBP.
Just one bit of advice, make sure you get a direct amp, minus loudness
or any other 'sound enhancement' features as it will kill the tone arms
true sound - you may as well get an ALBA if you gonna do that.
Go ahead make my listening pleasure.
