How come it seems like almost every person posting to idm has lost their ability to write even half-decent english? =) Just received Funkstörungs "Artificial Garbage" on Interr-Fered Comm and a testpressing on Musik Aus Strom. Both are nice, although I think they're both pretty 'straight' with not too many gimmicks. "Artificial Garbage" has 6 tracks. The first 2 tracks are very good, old Autechre-style darkness. A3, "Radio" has a nice vocal loop that goes on and on with all kinds of stuff coming along, even some bits of beats, but the beats never really kick in. A bit boring.. B1 "Bastard" is pretty rough, technoey stuff. Twisted sounds, but nothing outstanding, really. B2 "Sagamore" has nice clickety-clack drums, but nothing happens. B3 "Off" is lovely! It has a dreamy string-loop in the background and hard hitting drums in the front. Somehow it has a better flow than some of the other tracks, which seem to be somehow stuck. A good record. The white-vinyl testpressing (1.08) on Musik Aus Strom is different from "Artificial garbage". It has two slow tracks and two faster tracks. A1 "Oszillator" is a nice, slow jam with deep bass kicks and sharp hi-hats. A good head-nod, hiphop style. A2 "Zeit" does nothing for me. The sounds are boring, just strings and 808. Blah. B1 "Braun" starts out nicely with rough drums and clicks, but loses the plot when the 303 comes in. B2 "Buntes plastik" is a slow, emotional tarck, with a 4/4 beat. At first listen, it sounded dull and outdated, but after continuous listening it has grown on me and it might even be the best track on the ep, although it's really simple. np: buckshot lefonque - samba hop SIre One Coupe Devil Graphics
