Although I am a passionate listener of idm, I never stopped listening
to Industrial, or any of the other stuff I love. I just discovered
Haujobb and can't get enough of it. Skinny Puppy still gets played
frequently at our house.
idm is not the center of the universe, although it may be the center
of YOUR universe. I need to listen to lots of kinds of music and I
know that a lot of people on this list listen to many different
styles: from Bach to Shawn Colvin.
I think a lot of people who enjoyed (and produced) Industrial music
years ago moved on into ambient and idm, but did not give up liking
Industrial, etc. There's room on my cd shelves for all of it.
