In defense of Jason, I can understand having to play politics to
survive. I listen to all of his Metropolis shows during the week, and
then also to KROQ on Saturday nights from 1am to 5am.
Normally on KROQ, I think as part of KROQs commercialist creed, he has
to play some "modern rock" shite, but the later it gets, the more
freedom he has IMHO, to play whatever he wants.
I like Metropolis, and I honestly don't feel as though he is very
commercial. He doesn't talk much, except to give names and labels,
doesn't try to be funny <thank God> and plays everything from Mo' Wax
stuff to Quango to Cup of Tea to Planet Dog.
At club Bossonova, where he spins, I did see him come out on the dance
floor for about 4 or 5 minutes. Just bopped his head....strange I
thought, that he doesn't get down. But when I saw him spin after Meat
Beat, Spooky and Loop Guru at the American Legion, he was getting down
with his Jungle. So make your own conclusion.
